A faith-based child care cooperative for single parents in need
The purpose of Project One Day is to bring the love and safety of Jesus Christ to infants and toddlers of economically at-risk families.
While all Project One Day board members, educators and staff are followers of Christ and seek the good of our city through implementation of the Gospel, we recognize faith as a gift from God which cannot be forced or required of participants. For this reason, no parent is asked to sign a Statement of Faith as a condition of participation. Our hope, however, is that every parent will experience love, safety, friendship, and hope as a result of participating in our program.
The Heart of the Board of Directors:
- We believe God is the originator of life, and that all humans are created in His image (Genesis 1:26-30; Genesis 2:7; Job 33:4; John 1:34).
- We believe all children were created by God to bring glory and honor to Him. Stewarding the lives of children is a sacred honor and duty which includes teaching them about their Creator, that they might seek Him, find Him, and glorify Him for all eternity (Psalm 139: 13-16; Genesis 1:26-30; Deuteronomy 6:6-9).
- We believe God is holy, righteous, and just. As His image bearers we must also strive for justice. This includes showing respect to persons of every race, ethnicity, age, gender, and people group. (Genesis 1:27; Genesis 18:19; Isaiah 61:8; Micah 6:8; Mark 12:31).
- We believe God desires us to help those in need. Because all resources belong to God they are within His sovereign power to distribute. Individually, we commit to diligently praying for direction to these resources and walking in obedience to find them. (Prov 3:27-28; 31-8-9; 1 John 3:17; Luke 11:9; 14:14; Psalm 12:5; Psalm 50:10; James 2:5; Acts 20:35)
- We believe fathers and mothers each have distinct and important roles in shaping the lives of their children. As such, we recognize and value the sanctity of biblical marriage while simultaneously supporting those who are single in parenting (Genesis 21; Proverbs 4:1-4; Proverbs 31; Ephesians 6:4; Colossians 3:21; Ephesians 5:25-27).
- We believe we are to be careful stewards of the resources entrusted to us, including our most valued– the Gospel. We commit to sowing these resources wisely and generously for the flourishing of the Kingdom (Psalm 24:1; 1 Chronicles 29:12; James 1:17; Matthew 16:26
